Creating Referral Links
Once you have been allocated an Affiliate Code all you need to do to create a referral link is either use the link generator below or manually create the referral link (details to do that are below the link generator).
Link Generator
Step 1: Enter the three letter affiliate code you have been provided by SES, eg. AAA
Step 2: Enter the SEMS page URL you wish to link to eg. semstoolkit.com
Step 3: Enter the text you would like your link to display, for example
“Get SEMS here” OR
“View the SEMS toolkit here”
Step 4: Click the “generate” button
Step 5: Once the link HTML code appears in the box, copy it by clicking ctrl-C (for a PC) or command-C (for a Mac)
Step 6: Place the link HTML code in or on your email, website or tweet to start referring!
To start again, click the "Clear form" button and re-enter the relevant details.
To manually create links
Simply add some code to the end of whichever URL on the semstoolkit.com page you want to link to.
In most cases it's pretty simple. You just add the following code snippet to the end of the URL of the page you want to link to:
?member_source=XXX (where XXX is your three letter Affiliate Code)
So if you wanted to link to https://semstoolkit.com/section/Products/SEMS_Tool then you would simply use the URL https://semstoolkit.com/section/Products/SEMS_Tool?member_source=XXX.
It gets a bit more complicated when the URL of the page you want to link to already includes an attribute. For example the URL for the product page for the SEMS Tool is https://semstoolkit.com/shop_product/SEMS_Event_License?CID=4. You can see it already includes an attribute as indicated by the use of the '?'. In a case like this rather than appending
?member_source=XXX, you should append &member_source=XXX.
So https://semstoolkit.com/shop_product/SEMS_Event_License?CID=4 becomes https://semstoolkit.com/shop_product/SEMS_Event_License?CID=4&member_source=XXX
Tracking Referrers
We use cookies to track people who have clicked on your link, so they need to have cookies enabled for us to track them. If a peson doesn't have cookies enabled or they clear their cookies between clicking on your link and registering on the semstoolkit.com website then we won't be able to track them.
If someone clicks on one of your referral links and then later they click on someone else’s link, you will get credit for the referrer provided the person purchases a product from the website before your cookie expires (this is three months after they first click on your referral link)
Making Payments
Affiliate payments are made on a two month delay, and paid where your commission balance is $100.00 (USD) or more. The two month delay allows us to check for fraud, and also deal with any requests for refunds. All payments are made via PayPal only.
